Page rank, is totally based on number and quality of backlinks a webpage has, is an important factor in how well a particular webpage ranks within the Google SERPs.
We can say sometimes Yes and some times No but have sufficient reason behind this important fact. Let’s understand the fact behind it. Let’s understand it on behalf of Indexing and Ranking.
So, Page Rank is primarily important for
- Page Rank is important to derive indexing of your site.
- To determine original source of content when duplicates of a page exist
- Establishing crawl priority and crawl depth of a website
- Selecting the initial set of results (before re-ranking them based on other factors)
But when it come to determine which site ranks better than the next, link diversity is more important than raw page rank.
Google looks on localization and freshness more than page rank and links when they are trying to determine relevancy.
Page rank is query independent, as it is supposed to.
But for rankings it is nowhere near as it was important as it once was besides keywords density and keyword placement are rather have more weight in Google.
